Orderful’s 2023 Roadmap: EDIFACT Support, Simplified Integrations, Automated Testing, and More

As the leading provider of modern EDI solutions, Orderful is committed to helping businesses streamline their supply chain operations. As we move into 2023, we are excited to announce the many new initiatives we are working on to help our customers accelerate their businesses.

We are now focusing on supporting the EDIFACT standard, an international standard for EDI transactions commonly used in Europe. By supporting this standard, our customers will have the ability to expand their business globally and connect with trading partners using EDIFACT. The transactions we are targeting to support at launch are CONTRL, ORDERS, ORDRSP, INVOIC, DESADV, SLSRPT, TAXCON, and PRICAT. As our customers know, we can quickly add additional transactions and versions once the EDIFACT plumbing is in place. If you have other requirements, let us know! We are targeting a mid-year release for EDIFACT support.

Many businesses struggle to integrate their trading partners, especially when they don’t have the required EDI knowledge. To address this challenge, we are working on enhancements to the Integration Assistant that will improve the integration process and reduce the number of Rules that need to be written. This will significantly reduce the time and resources needed for integration and enable businesses to start trading with their partners faster. Additionally, we will continue to add enhancements to the Rules Engine throughout the year.

Testing is an essential part of the EDI process, but manual testing can be time-consuming and prone to errors. To make testing more efficient, we are going to start to store test transactions for common trading partners and allow leaders on our platform to configure testing templates. These Testing automation slated to be delivered during the second half of 2023.

Our team is continually looking for ways to improve our platform and make it more user-friendly. This includes simplifying the user interface, providing more intuitive navigation/search, and improving the overall user experience and platform discovery. You’ve already seen a few of the navigational enhancements being deployed in the product this year, and these types of enhancements will continue to roll out throughout the year.
